The Dallas Volunteer Fire Department is located in the northern panhandle of West Virginia and provides EMS and Fire coverage for Dallas and the surrounding communities. According to the 1990 US Census, the population of Dallas is 734. Adding in the surrounding communties, it is estimated we serve approximately 1500 people. The Fire Department was founded in 1954. In 1980, Emergency Medical Services was introduced to the Dallas community when Jerry & Nancy Murrin, Rich Blum and Gerald Berghoff became the first EMT’s. We boasted a 1967, International Travelall ambulance purchased from Glen Dale VFD. We are presently operating our 5th ambulance, a 1996 Road Rescue. It is equipped with state of the art equipment to handle a multitude of emergencies.
