Citizen CPR

CPR is a relatively simple skill that can save your loved ones life in a cardiac emergency.  The Dallas VFD has several CPR instructors and offer CPR classes at the Fire Department several times throughout the year. We will also teach CPR to any group that is interested in learning CPR. Please contact us at 547-4999 or by e-mail at firechief@dallasvfd.com.

Find out how you can help the Chain of Survival in your community save lives during cardiovascular emergencies. A strong Chain of Survival can improve chances of survival and recovery for victims of heart attack, stroke, and other emergencies.

Fire Safety and Prevention

FEMA for KIDS
Floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and winter storms are natural disasters that happen in the United States. The Federal Emergency Management Agency -- FEMA -- helps people who have been in a disaster. We also teach people what to do during a disaster and what to do BEFORE a disaster. You can help your family prepare for a disaster. With this site, you can also learn about what causes disasters, play games and read stories from children who have been through a disaster. You can also become a Disaster Action Kid! Disasters are a serious subject, but you can have fun learning about them!

The United States Fire Administration Kids' Page
The United States Fire Administration launched a "Kid's Page" - Where Fire Safety Starts - on the World Wide Web today. Featuring an animated extinguisher the USFA Kid's Page contains an interactive quiz, interactive games and multimedia enhancements such as downloadable audio files. Children can learn about the importance of an escape plan as well as smoke detectors. The USFA Kid's Page also contains a Teachers & Parent guide giving instant access to the topics covered.
